John Warfield is best remembered for his breakthroughs in Interactive Management, and the creation of Systems Science. His work is known and used around the world - something that may have seemed beyond the reach of a poor boy growing up in a small Midwestern town. At an early age, Warfield displayed signs of unusual intelligence, intelligence that brought him advantages everywhere he turned - from elementary school, to the Army.
Warfield combined his powerful intellect with a strong work ethic, and made the most of early opportunities in life. His training in electrical engineering in the Army placed him firmly on a career track in that field, and by the age of 27 he had completed two Bachelor's degrees, a Master's, and a PhD. He married and started a family, and embarked on a career in the academic world.
